Pinus mugo pumilo – Dwarf Mugo Pine

Height: 2-4’      

Spread: 2-4’ (Dwarf mound shape, very dense)        

Hardiness: Zones 3-7 (All of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, South and North Dakota, and Nebraska). Seed source is Italy.   

Growth Rate: Slow-very slow, can be controlled by pruning.  

Common Ailments: None serious

Foliage: Short needles, rich green color.  

Preferred Soil: ph 6-8, tolerant of high alkalinity, full sun.

Attributes: A very durable and compactly mounded shrub, usually grown in foundation plantings.
